Roberta The chocolate chip muffins at Coffee to a Tea are great too. I'll have to get someone to go with me sometime this week and try the carrot cake. I stopped using perms 15 years ago because they burned my skin.

I'm sure I will have to get used to the change in the taste of foods. Once you are used to one way most of your life - it is hard to change. Have you ever heard of a book called Incredibly Easy Gluten Free Recipes? My husband ordered me that book on Amazon. I have already looked into getting some books through the library also. Have a great weekend!

Do you have any recommendations for a good cookbook? Are there any cookbooks that have quick recipes in it? Thanks for your help!

No hurry on the cookbook. But would love to hear about the recipes and products last Thursday. I am better but still have a hugh belly.

Do you have the GF book by Rebecca Reilly? It's not in the library. The Gluten Free Girl (book from library said Rebecca was the best baker). You can borrow it if you want to when you come Saturday. She is supposted to be a great cook but I have not tried yet since I started the South Beach diet and want to lose more weight before I get into the desert baking. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

Love, Sandy

Sounds great! My home is 879-4932. Yes you could make every recipes in the book and would not have to use bean flour.

Linda, I do not have the Bette Hagman Bakes Bread book and I would like to have it. Do you have her Bakes Deserts book? If not I would like to trade.

Sandy,

Yes, the Ancient Grains bread does slice well for sandwiches. I've had chicken salad and PB/J sandwiches with that bread. I tried a different recipe on Sunday and it was a disaster! So discouraging. So far, the Ancient Grains is the only one I can get to do well. It is a little heavy, which is why it does slice well. Fortunately, I love whole grain, sturdy breads.

Thanks for the recipe for the ancient grains bread recipe. Does it hold up well to make sandwiches? I have a hard time finding a bread that will not fall apart in a sandwich.

Thanks,Sandy

Eating Gluten Free in Greenville

Cafe Paulista Grill is a Brazilian restaurant on Wade Hampton serving GF cheese bread with it's entrees and salads. The owner does understand gluten and can direct customers to safe choices. The cheese bread has a tapioca and cheese base and they also sell the cheese bread mix. It was yummy according to Leta, and she said it was great to be able to eat the bread served with the salad.

I ate at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers today on Woodruff Rd. Go online and download their GF menu items. The server… Continue

Coffee shop serving GF yummies in Greenville!

There is a new coffee shop in town serving GF cookies, muffins and sandwiches. Leta and I went there today and had a chicken salad sandwich on GF bread and split a chocolate chip muffin that was excellant. The cookies were sold out. They are baking their goodies using GF mixes in house.

October 31, 2008 The Recipe Corner

It's Halloween, and I am so grateful that my favorite candy, Dove chocolates in milk and dark are both GF!

Life is challenging, but as long as I have coffee and chocolate, I'm okay with it. Leta, Bev and I walked the Spinx 5k for Team Gluten Free, and Paul ran it! It was fun, we did attract attention and spread awareness. That is a long walk! 3.2 miles, but we did it, even if I was trailing behind everyone else in the city!

I want to make it clear that I search out and receive GF recipes from… Continue
