A friend just mentioned that someone told her that tea bags are held together at the seams by a gluten containing substance. Does anyone know?

We had a great turn-out on TH as Nancy helped to fill-in-the-blanks with many answers to questions posed. She lives in Seneca and has a Greenville office. Call her @ NuCommunity, LLC--(Work/Mobile) 864-888-2535. She might be just the health practicioner to set your G/F diet right in line! Her rates are $20 for every 15 minutes.(which means you could have a weekly menu sample examined by her and tweaked for a mere $20.) Her husband has been a celiac for over 27 years and this is her passion! Hope…

We definitely were in for a treat having Dianna Ivey, Health Coach, present at our June meeting. No one left at the end of the first hour--in fact, people kept asking questions for another hour!!! We had fun with door prizes, heard of future events, but were all encouraged to take personal responsibility for our own health! More will be posted re: Dianna's presentation as it REALLY benefited all who were present. Be sure to tune in soon for future event postings as well!

Cafe Paulista Grill is a Brazilian restaurant on Wade Hampton serving GF cheese bread with it's entrees and salads. The owner does understand gluten and can direct customers to safe choices. The cheese bread has a tapioca and cheese base and they also sell the cheese bread mix. It was yummy according to Leta, and she said it was great to be able to eat the bread served with the salad.
I ate at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers today on Woodruff Rd. Go online and download their GF menu items. The server…

There is a new coffee shop in town serving GF cookies, muffins and sandwiches. Leta and I went there today and had a chicken salad sandwich on GF bread and split a chocolate chip muffin that was excellant. The cookies were sold out. They are baking their goodies using GF mixes in house.

I have to tell you that we had a fun time trying out all of the recipes that arrived at the party!! We had 17 members come, including some new friends. It was a time of celebration and fun. Besides giving us all some new "ammo" for the upcoming holidays, I think it gave us a shot in the arm.
THIS THANKSGIVING, I AM THANKFUL FOR THOSE IN MY LIFE WHO HAVE ENCOURAGED ME TO KEEP TRYING NEW RECIPES ETC. That means, Linda, and Leta, etc. Who are you thankful for this holiday season? I hope there's so…

It's Halloween, and I am so grateful that my favorite candy, Dove chocolates in milk and dark are both GF!
Life is challenging, but as long as I have coffee and chocolate, I'm okay with it. Leta, Bev and I walked the Spinx 5k for Team Gluten Free, and Paul ran it! It was fun, we did attract attention and spread awareness. That is a long walk! 3.2 miles, but we did it, even if I was trailing behind everyone else in the city!
I want to make it clear that I search out and receive GF recipes from…

October 22, 2008 My Granddaughter's 10th Birthday!
Well, I haven't made these cookies yet, but I plan to bake on Sunday. I need to stockpile some goodies for the holidays. (If they last long enough to freeze.) My son is coming for Thanksgiving and I will be baking a Pumpkin Pie for him and a Pecan Pie for me. But, in the meantime, I found this recipe on the Delphi Forum Celiac Disease site, look for Mirelle's and Ruby Rose's recipes posted there. This cookie recipe looks fast and easy. Anything…

If you really want great gluten-free food, visit Lieu's Chinese Bistro off Woodruff Road in Greenville. Our Greater Greenville Celiacs went to Lieu's for the "Dining Out-Gluten-free Style" meeting this month, hosted by Paul Pimentel. The food was tremendous and the service impeccable. It was difficult to believe that all eighteen of us were served with accuracy in such a very short amount of time. We had many new people and all felt inspired to keep spreading the word--GREATER GREENVILLE CELIACS…

With attendances of 8, 6, 9, and 3 for our first few meetings, it was very exciting to see 19 people who walked through that meeting door this past Thursday! I hope you're encouraged with the new friendships you've made...and I hope you plan on joining us in helping others deal with CD. This is what we've been aiming for--an ACTIVE GROUP IN THE GREATER GREENVILLE area that'll make a difference. At the 5K walk/run on Sat., Oct 25, you may have little interest in the actual walk, but you could be…
